After each use, Rainbow AquaMate has to be rinsed. This involves filling the shampoo bottle up with clean warm water. Then turn AquaMate on and run until at least half of the bottle (now filled with water) is empty. If this is not done, shampoo stays in the fluid control system, dries out and clogs the tubes.
AquaMate (one with 50 foot long hose) - hose end connected to the faucet did not have a screen in it so loose rust or build up chips from inside of the water pipes and got into the system and clogged it.
AquaMate II (White water tank for clean water) - all the same reasons just my recommendation would be to fill the water tank with water through a fine strainer and cleaning up the unit may involve taking the water pump apart. Gray plastic water pump housing latches will have to be BROKEN to access the pump. On older AquaMate II models it had to be replaced - newer design can be reassembled. For that you will need to drill 4 holes in the bottom half and use 4 screws to assemble it back.
SOLUTION Usually nothing has to be replaced but AquaMate has to be taken apart and rinsed. If you are attempting it yourself - keep in mind that the system contains very small O rings and rubber balls and springs that are easy to lose.
(NOTE - we have not yet worked on the newest style AquaMate (one that connects to Rainbow as the carpet nozzle) so this solution may or may not apply to it.) |
