Problem:
I replaced motor brushes on my 1 speed Rainbow e-series vacuum but they keep sparking and it does not seem to solve the problem |
Possible Causes:
Few things may have happened:
Unevenly worn commutator plates on rotor
Bad bearings that made rotor spin out of balance creating vibration and making sparks
Lower bearing plate )plastic part) is cracked making armature spin off center

Possible causes and solutions
In either way sounds like copper plates on rotor are now in bad shape and even if you replace bearings it will not help.
This motor was made not serviceable and Rainbow manufacturer do not sell some replacement parts for this motor. Some bearings are glued in and very hard to reove without damaging parts. Rotor is not available to purchase as a separate part, Bearing plate is also unavailable.
So best solution would be just to buy a new motor or just buy another vacuum cleaner.
