How Low Would Kirby Salesman Go?
Manufacturers suggested retail price today (2010) is $1349.00. Add accessories, taxes, finance charges (if you are financing) and it will come out to around $2000. You can negotiate the price of course but by how much it is beyond your control. It depends on many factors such as - salesman's commission, how long he is with the company, how are you paying, your credit score and many more... It has nothing to do with salesman's "contest" (winning a trip getting free TV or a microwave for his mom..). It does not matter how good of a "negotiator" you are, sales people are always better at it so do not even try play this game..
Do not try reasoning with the salesman (if you have an experienced salesman in the house you will HAVE to agree that fair price for Kirby is $1,000,000.00 and you CAN afford it). Save yourself some time and make it easy for salesman too – think if you really have to have it TODAY, what are your other options and make “take it or leave it offer” and get it over with. Be polite yet firm. If salesman gets you into negotiations again - it will be another exhausting hour at the kitchen table..

What is fair price?
Again - it is all about your options...
Today (2010) Kirby Sentria vacuum cleaner model with standard set of attachments can be purchased online for $300-$400 for not polished unit from a private seller or a pawn shop so its a very good price but a bit risky purchase. For $600-$800 you will get very nice nearly new reconditioned unit from well established online retailer with retailers warranty. Now decide how much more you are willing to pay to get it today.

How much Kirby distributor pays for the Kirby vacuum?
We have been asked this question many times but to you this is absolutely irrelevant. Only factor you should consider buying Kirby vacuum is YOUR options – not the dealer cost. Distributors cost is just as important to you as the price of a gallon of gas in Baghdad in 2004. Just to satisfy your curiosity - it was about 0.06 per gallon yet it did not stop you from paying $3+ per gallon at the pump in US.
