KIRBY VACUUM NOZZLE LOCK SCREW
Fits all Kirby vacuum "Generation" models...
G4, G5, G6, UG, UGD, Sentria, Sentria II and Avalir

Even if the screw is still in place it may not be tight enough and nozzle may be fairly loose and air may be leaking between the nozzle and fan case gasket making the vacuum less efficient.

To test it - remove nozzle and try pushing the screw in. You may have to press pretty hard as you have to overcome the spring under the latch. Screw must be tight and must not move when you press. If it moves you will need to replace the entire fan case

Fr instructions removing and installing fan case go HERE. Follow instructions 1 thrugh 7 to remove fan case and when installing it make sure to remove old sealant and use some silicon based sealant.

Fan case is pretty thin and usually the thread in it is worn so getting new screw will not help. If you have some time on your hand and few needed tools you may be able to save old fan case and screw. For instructions click HERE

Perfect replacement for Kirby fan case nozzle screw, great quality, and exactly what I needed. Unfortunately for me I removed the screw while cleaning my Kirby not knowing it is machine pressed into the fan case. DO NOT REMOVE, unless you want to buy annew fan case or use alternative methods of repair that may or may not work. Great company, great products, amazing support for Kirby (better than Kirby themselves).
