There are a few things that you may want to know and do in order to extend your Kirby brush roll life:
- After vacuuming before putting Kirby vacuum away always raise the nozzle up so bristles do not touch the floor so are not bent.
- After every use, tilt the Kirby upright and take a look at the brush roll to make sure it is free of hair and threads that may have come out of your carpets. If hair or threads wrap the brush roll and keep the bristles bent for long period of time they will stay that way.
- Do not vacuum driveway, concrete garage floor, sand or gravel after remodeling - they will act as sand paper and will wear bristles in no time.
- Avoid moisture; do not leave your Kirby vacuum in a flooded basement. Not only will moisture warp the roll but it will induce corrossion of bearings in the motor.
- When replacing the belt - make sure you install the brush roll properly. See your manual for instructions or if you do not have one - click HERE.
