We don't convert them anymore
You can use regular 120 volt switch but it has no terminals to connect the electronic board that is under the motor.

KIRBY VACUUM POWER SWITCH
CONVERTED to be used with 220 / 230 / 240 volt models

Will NOT work with 110/120 volt version !!!
We have taken switch made for Kirby vacuum cleaners sold in USA and converted it to work with 220 volt Kirby vacuum version.
Kirby sweepers made for Europe have additional safety measure - electronic module under the motor and it has 2 more wires that have to be connected to the switch . We have modified the switch so it works just like European version but sells at the fraction of the price.

There is a way to use American switch on European models but please do not attempt that unless you feel very comfortable with taking apart things and putting tam back together... Explanation how to do it is HERE.

If you are not experienced vacuum repair expert but still would like to attempt replacing switch yourself - we suggest doing it at once so you will not forget how to put it back together. If you have a digital camera - snap plenty of pictures so you could look up how things are being put back together.

Few things to pay attention when installing the switch:
1. Before you dissemble - take a look where the both headlight are wires plugged in. One terminal (for the upper one) is so well hidden that have to note where it is before taking apart the Kirby.
2. Assembling you will have to know how to install slide bracket (see 2 last pictures on THIS PAGE in our Knowledge base).
Make sure the plastic gears and the primary drive belt (inside the vacuum) are clear of wires. Use cable ties.

Full manual on How to replace Kirby switch go HERE
(this manual is for 120 volt version so please pay close attention how the module under the motor is connected to the 220 volt switch)
